It was manufactured in Germany in 1540, possibly in Augsburg or Nuremberg, where some of the most skilled armor manufacturers were located at the time. The sunshade is the part that covers the face and was not originally part of the helmet, but it is considered to be from the same period. This helmet has a very unique appearance and is one of the few well preserved items owned by King Gustav Vasa of Sweden. This helmet is currently on display at the Royal Arsenal Museum in Sweden, located in the Royal Palace in Stockholm and is one of the oldest museums in the world. The museum houses historical relics of the Swedish royal family and military.
