The central organ of vertebrates. The main function of the heart is to provide power for blood flow, allowing blood to flow to various parts of the body. The human heart is located in the lower left middle of the chest cavity, with a volume approximately the size of a fist and a weight of approximately 250 grams. The shape of a human heart is like a peach, located above the diaphragm, between the two lungs and leaning to the left. In September 2022, Australian researchers discovered a 380 million year old heart on a jawed fish fossil.
