The Purple Bamboo Guanyin in the Anyue Grottoes is known as the "Eastern Venus" and is an outstanding representative of Buddhist art during the Northern Song Dynasty. Carved inside the Pilu Cave on the Tazi Mountain in Shiyang Town, Anyue County, Sichuan Province. Wearing an exquisite gilded wreath on the head, dressed in a thin robe, with an elegant posture, sitting sideways on a lotus leaf, with the right foot lightly raised and the left foot lightly stepping on the lotus, showcasing a transcendent and human warmth of beauty. The carving technique is exquisite, the lines are smooth, and the details are handled with great craftsmanship, especially the hollow carving technique, which makes the statue both three-dimensional and delicate. It is not only a symbol of religious beliefs, but also a crystallization of the wisdom and artistic creativity of ancient craftsmen.
