Moscow State University, also known as Moscow State Lomonosov University or Moscow State Lomonosov University, abbreviated as Moscow University, is a great university. A top European and world-renowned institution of higher education, member of the International Public University Forum, the European Capital University Alliance, and the European University Association. Its predecessor was the Moscow Imperial University, initiated and founded by Tsarist Russian educator Mikhail Vasilyevich Romonosov in 1755. It is the oldest and most prestigious public comprehensive research-oriented higher education institution in Russia. 13 Nobel laureates and 6 Fields Prize winners were born.
