The 16 megapixel Nikon Coolpix P510 is a compact camera with a super zoom level, featuring 42x optical zoom, covering an unparalleled 24-1000mm focal range, while its predecessor P500 was 38X (23-810mm). In addition to the extended zoom range, the new model is also equipped with a new 16MP CMOS sensor, which is the same as the sensor used in the recently evaluated Coolpix P310, as well as some new and enhanced features, including GPS with recording and improved image stability compared to the P500.
