Electronic pet, also known as Tamagotchi (a combination of "egg" and "watch" in Japanese), is officially translated as "Tamagotchi" in China. It is an electronic pet series game console launched by Bandai Company in November 1996. It has a shape like an egg, with only three buttons on top and a simple LCD screen. Because the animals they raise look like chicks, they are also known as "electronic chickens". The "Tamako" series has sold 45 million units domestically in Japan, and this number has reached 70 million units worldwide.
