It is a fish species belonging to the family Scorpaenidae in the order Scorpaeniformes, also known as pot covered fish, catfish, red fish, striped fish, earth fish, slippery fish, and ocean fish. [17] The body length is generally 50-60 centimeters, and can reach over 1 meter in length. Red rays are mainly distributed in southern Japan and southwestern Korea. Its presence can also be seen in the South China Sea, East China Sea, Nanning, Guangxi, and the freshwater areas of Longzhou. Be active at night. The red ray in the omnivorous rivers of Guangxi is the only cartilaginous fish in inland freshwater waters of China. Due to the extremely small population size and narrow distribution area, the living environment is severely endangered and needs to be protected.
