Japanese black crayfish is a species of crayfish under the genus Crayfish, native to northern Japan. It is a small crayfish with a body length of generally 50-60mm and a gray shell. Due to the threat of invasive species of crayfish from the United States, the Japanese Ministry of Environment has listed it as a vulnerable species. Omnivorous animals, feeding on algae, plants, red worms, aquatic insects, and rotting food in water. It is a freshwater vulnerable species in Japan.
