Chamaeleocalyptoratus is a species of chameleon, named after its towering fleshy crown. It is one of the few species found in Asia, while the rest are mostly found in Africa, especially on the island of Madagascar. The high crowned chameleon is named after the towering, cap like crown made up of bone plates on their heads, and is a tree dwelling diurnal chameleon. The high crown chameleons adapt to a wide temperature range, making them the easiest chameleon species to breed. The main food of omnivorous species is insects, and most chameleons develop an aversion to a single food, sometimes refusing to eat until death.
