The estuarine crocodile is the largest known reptile on Earth. Adult estuarine crocodiles can grow up to 5-7 meters in length and weigh 500-1400 kilograms. The estuarine crocodile has a fierce and strong temperament, and is a good swimmer. Its distribution range is very wide, mainly in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, the Malay Archipelago, and the most concentrated in northern Australia. Estuary crocodiles have a wide range of feeding habits and prey on fish, amphibians, reptiles, and large mammals. Sometimes, they actively attack and prey on humans. Also known as cannibalistic crocodile, bay crocodile, or saltwater crocodile, it is the largest of 23 crocodile species and also the largest reptile in the world.
