Tailless prickly guinea pigs are a group of terrestrial medium to large herbivorous rodents, collectively referred to as members of the only genus in the family of tailless prickly rats - the genus of tailless prickly rats. Tailless prickly guinea pigs are distributed in Central and South America, resembling pufferfish rats in appearance, but with a larger snout and light colored spots and horizontal lines on the body. The length of the tailless guinea pig is 50-77 centimeters, excluding the short tail of 13-23 centimeters. It weighs 6-14 kilograms and is the sixth largest rodent in the world. Similar to guinea pigs, they have square heads, small ears, speckled and striped sides, and almost invisible tails.
