The lotus shaped warming bowl of the Ru kiln in the Northern Song Dynasty was commonly used for warming wine during the late Tang to Song dynasties when firing porcelain. The original vessel should be paired with a holding pot. Currently housed at the Taipei Palace Museum. The Ru kiln was once used as a tool in the palace, but due to the method of covering firing, its mouth had defects. Therefore, the palace ordered Ruzhou to produce celadon. The selection of the Ru kiln should be due to the fact that it was fully glazed.
