This landscape of Ovi, located in the suburbs of Ovi, depicts a group of ancient rural cottages located below the raised horizon; Going further down, the wheat fields extended all the way to the bottom of the canvas, with only a few swaying trees breaking through. The narrow color range and tense and exciting brushstrokes, following repetition, are the characteristics of the artist's final works. Van Gogh painted a lot of landscape paintings in the weeks leading up to his death, always working outdoors. By then, he had fallen into various conflicting emotions: the vast and fertile farmland gave him a sense of freedom, but it also exacerbated feelings of melancholy and loneliness, ultimately leading to his suicide.
